Mancos Valley Chamber of Commerce prepares to welcome out-of-state hunters<\/p>\n

Jo Anne Brown and Lois Davis were appointed to contact the restaurants and cafes in town and ask their cooperation during the peak of the time when out-of-state hunters will be in Mancos. It was voted to have a brochure of available facilities printed and placed in the businesses which sell hunting licenses. These brochures will also have a coupon attached which when presented to a Mancos restaurant or cafe will provide the hunter with a cup of coffee as a compliment of the Mancos Valley Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n

Cash stolen<\/p>\n

The sheriff\u2019s office is investigating a break-in at the Mancos Schools this week. The sheriff\u2019s office reported that $138 had been stolen sometime over the weekend from a safe in the building.<\/p>\n

Yeoman services held Wednesday<\/p>\n

Funeral services for Robert Haralson Yeomans, 23, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Ertel Funeral Home in Cortez. Bob was born March 16, 1947 in Placerville, Calif., the third child of Wilfred George and Verna Jane Yeomans. In 1965 he came to Mancos where he made his home with an aunt and uncle, Dick and Hazel Yeomans.<\/p>\n

Bob excelled in football and basketball and was a well liked man in the entire area. Bob had followed construction work after his discharge from the service and was working on such a job in Utah. After spending the weekend in Mancos, he was enroute to work when he was in a one-car accident near Camus, Utah<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
