{"id":108474,"date":"2015-11-02T20:05:23","date_gmt":"2015-11-03T03:05:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/blue-jays-runners-take-third-at-state-meet\/"},"modified":"2015-11-02T20:05:23","modified_gmt":"2015-11-03T03:05:23","slug":"blue-jays-runners-take-third-at-state-meet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/blue-jays-runners-take-third-at-state-meet\/","title":{"rendered":"Blue Jays runners take third at state meet"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><!-- gallery:b410e619-51b7-4be3-a3de-45daba96d07e --><\/p>\n<p>The Mancos boys cross-country team finished in the top three at the state championship for the second straight year.<\/p>\n<p>The Blue Jays finished third, and were led by senior Ro Paschal (17:06.8), who finished sixth.<\/p>\n<p>Simon Kearns finished in 12th place (17:30.)<\/p>\n<p>Jake McKie (18:50), Nic Archuleta (18:58), Asa Kearns (19:12) and Caleb Yoder (20:17) finished 40th, 45th, 57th and 78th.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo see this group of seniors run for the last time was very special,\u201d head coach Brady Archer said in an email. \u201cIt was also great to see our younger runners step up and help this team to a third-place finish.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Mancos girls didn\u2019t qualify for state, but senior Emma Most secured a spot with her 15th-place finish at regionals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know for Emma it was tough to be out there without her teammates,\u201d Archer said.<\/p>\n<p>In Colorado Springs on Saturday, Most\u2019s time of 22:47 was good for 45th place.
