He honed his craft growing up in Chicago, and later Colorado. Turner\u2019s music moves the feet and haunt the soul, while reflecting the influences of the Afro-Cuban sounds of his homeland and the deep blues of his adopted country.<\/p>\n<p>In 1974, Turner played with Grammy-nominee Tracy Nelson and Mother Earth, followed by stints with Zephyr and the Legendary 4-nikators. In 1995, he helped form the Otis Taylor Band, and his intense guitar work contributed to the band\u2019s sound on five CDs. His 2005 release \u201cRise\u201d resulted in a Blues Music Award nomination for Best New Artist Debut, and was followed by 2006\u2019s \u201cThe Turner Diaries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His most recent release, \u201cMiracles &amp; Demons,\u201d again displays his dynamic guitar work and strong original songwriting.
