The Mancos Marshal\u2019s Office and Town of Mancos remind residents to lock their doors after removing valuables from their vehicles.<\/p>\n
The town has had a recent spate of thefts of purses and tools from unlocked vehicles<\/p>\n
Help prevent these crimes by observing the following:<\/p>\n
Don\u2019t leave your car running while unattended.<\/p>\n
Don\u2019t leave valuables in your vehicle. If you do, hide them or place them in the trunk before reaching your destination.<\/p>\n
Park in well lit areas<\/p>\n
Take your keys with you.<\/p>\n
Lock doors and close windows.<\/p>\n
Report suspicious activity to the Marshal\u2019s Office, 565-8454.<\/p>\n
Distillery hosts acoustic rock musician Brown<\/p>\n
The Mancos Valley Distillery presents Justin Brown and his acoustic rock, Saturday, Dec. 12.<\/p>\n
Doors open 5 p.m., and music starts at 6 p.m. Cover charge is $3, and cocktail specials will be available.<\/p>\n
Brown was heavily influenced by Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, then xpanded his tastes into jazz, bluegrass, and classic blues. With 20-plus years on guitar, he has become a well-rounded player who incorporates sounds that have influenced his playing style.<\/p>\n
Brown lives in the Farmington area and is part of the band Secondhand Strings.<\/p>\n

The Giving Tree Project is in full swing in Mancos.<\/p>\n
Trees are at the library, P&D Grocery, Dolores State Bank, Zuma Natural Foods and Columbine Bar.<\/p>\n
Stop in, choose an ornament and shop for that person.<\/p>\n
Cash donations are also accepted those who can\u2019t do the shopping or want to contribute to a food basket.<\/p>\n
