A fire destroyed a home on County Road 32 Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Fire crews were first alerted to the fire about 1:30 p.m., and the house was fully engulfed by the time they arrived, said Lt. Mike Cabell, of the Cortez Fire Protection District.<\/p>\n

The homeowner was injured in the fire, but his injuries were not life-threatening, Cabell said.<\/p>\n

Crews worked on putting out small spot fires in the grass and in rubbish piles throughout the property until early evening, he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt definitely did burn very hot,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Firefighters from Mancos, Dolores and Lewis-Arriola fire departments all responded to the fire, he said.<\/p>\n
