Learning to finger pick gives beginners stuck on strumming a new path towards musical talent, Kneebone says.<\/p>\n
\u201cA lot of your favorite songs involve finger-picking,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s a common guitar technique.\u201d<\/p>\n
Students need to bring a guitar to the class, and he will have you finger-picking within five minutes. It\u2019s pretty simple, but the trick is to start off slow until you have the technique down.<\/p>\n
\u201cI see it as another color on your palate to paint with,\u201d Kneebone said. \u201cYou can paint all day without blue, but eventually you\u2019ve got to paint that blue sky, and that\u2019s what finger-picking does for a song.\u201d<\/p>\n
