Outdoor recreation rentals, a revived gas station, a boat storage and repair shop, and Mexican food restaurants are all coming to Dolores.<\/p>\n

Last year, entrepreneur Stan Folsom brought the floating marina back to McPhee reservoir under the name Doc\u2019s Outdoor Sports Rentals. It\u2019s expected to open May 1, and will have rental slips, fuel, a store, ice, snacks, fishing and boating gear.<\/p>\n

Now Folsom has opened a flagship storefront and gas station at 341 Railroad Ave. in Dolores.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s like a visitors center for Docs Marina and McPhee reservoir,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

The Dolores store is expected to be open April 15 and offers rentals for kayaks, canoes, pontoon boats, fishing boats, water-skiing boats, paddle boards, side-by-sides and ATV\u2019s. There will be a small convenience store and various recreation gear for sale, and the gas pumps will be turned back on.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile on top of the hill across from the school bus yard, Folsom has leased a 5,000-square-foot building and storage facility. He is offering indoor and outdoor boat storage, light boat repair, an upholstery shop and wood furniture shop.<\/p>\n

More grand plans are in the works, and he\u2019s looking for business partners.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have room and equipment for photography and framing studio, yoga classes, martial arts, a gym, and office space,\u201d he said. \u201cThe old archery facility is still here, so that is an opportunity if somebody wants to form a club.\u201d<\/p>\n

Town officials report that the Montezuma Mexican restaurant plans to open soon at the former Hollywood Bar location on Railroad Avenue. Also, a Chavelos Mexican restaurant is planned for the old Naked Moose restaurant location.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
