In addition, the road narrows with no guardrails or shoulder next to the 1,000-foot drop off.<\/span><span class=\"credit\">JERRY McBRIDE\/Durango Herald file<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><p>Blasting on Red Mountain Pass began Wednesday and continue for 2\u00c2\u00bd weeks, causing delays of up to about 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Operations will occur mostly from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Colorado Department of Transportation said in a news release Tuesday.
