John Hickenlooper and a bipartisan group of local leaders will join supporters of the Raise the Bar, Protect Our Constitution ballot initiative campaign to kick off their signature-gathering effort in Aurora at 11 a.m. in the lobby of the Aurora City Hall.<\/p>\n<p><em class=\"mwc_breakout_text_bullet\">Colorado\u2019s new lieutenant governor, Donna Lynne, will be in Durango on Thursday, July 2.<\/em>Signature gatherers will join Raise the Bar supporters in towns across the state including Alamosa, Craig, Fort Morgan, Colorado Springs, Durango, Grand Junction, Pueblo and Frisco.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re honored to have the governor join us at our launch event in Aurora, just as we\u2019re elated that the new lieutenant governor will be at the kickoff in Durango and former legislators like Dan Gibbs and Kathleen Curry will join us in Frisco,\u201d said Kate Roberts, of the Raise the Bar Campaign. \u201cWith many of the state\u2019s most respected Republicans also endorsing this initiative \u2013 leaders like Bill Cadman, Bill Owens, Ellen Roberts, and Mike Kopp \u2013 you really see the bipartisan reach of the Raise the Bar campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Raise the Bar initiative seeks to make it harder to amend Colorado\u2019s constitution by requiring constitutional ballot initiative proponents to gather signatures from two percent of all registered voters in each of Colorado\u2019s 35 State Senate districts.
