DENVER \u2013 Selina Meyer, the president in HBO\u2019s \u201cVeep,\u201d would be best suited to serve the people of Colorado as the next president of the United States, according to Dish Network.<\/p>\n

The Colorado-based satellite provider \u201cgot to thinking,\u201d<\/a> according to a website announcing tongue-in-cheek results for each state.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf there aren\u2019t any real options left \u2026 maybe we should consider some unreal ones,\u201d Dish Network suggested.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the left, Hillary Clinton is viewed as an untrustworthy career politician who will say anything to win. On the right is the divisive and bombastic Donald Trump, who keeps winning in spite of everything he says.\u201d<\/p>\n

The satellite provider \u201cisolated a pool\u201d of fictional Democratic and Republican presidential candidates. Meyer \u2013 played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus \u2013 a lovable but often inept character, did best in Colorado.<\/p>\n

\u201cVeep\u2019s Selina Meyer \u2026 isn\u2019t afraid to play both sides of the aisle to appease voters, and she has a pretty lax attitude about marijuana,\u201d Dish explained, in an oddly acute description of the state\u2019s politics.<\/p>\n

\u201cMeyer\u2019s laid back approach to the presidency would be a perfect fit in the Mile \u2018High\u2019 City. She\u2019s also a big proponent of education and since Colorado lawmakers are working on increasing education spending per pupil, we think the foul-mouthed, narcissistic President Meyer could win here.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the left, in addition to Selina Meyer, the list included: \u201cHouse of Cards\u2019\u201d Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey), \u201cIndependence Day\u2019s\u201d Thomas J. Whitmore (Bill Pullman) and the \u201cWest Wing\u2019s\u201d Josiah \u201cJed\u201d Bartlet (Martin Sheen).<\/p>\n

On the right, the list included: \u201cAir Force One\u2019s\u201d James Marshall (Harrison Ford), the \u201cPresident for Life\u201d from \u201cEscape from L.A.\u201d (Cliff Robertson), \u201cIdiocracy\u2019s\u201d Dwayne Camacho (Terry Crews) and \u201cScandal\u2019s\u201d Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn).<\/p>\n

Colorado \u2013 a swing state \u2013 is ripe for a fictional candidate, after Democrats during the March 1 caucus elected Bernie Sanders over Clinton, 59 percent to 40 percent.
