The sessions are open to the public and will begin Sept. 19. They will be held through July on the third Tuesday of each month from 5-6 p.m. in the Southwest Memorial Hospital conference room at 1311 N. Mildred Road. Attendees should RSVP to mhigman@swhealth.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The education department, under the direction of Meghan Higman, also offers monthly trainings on a subjects including antibiotic stewardship, genetic testing, mental and behavioral health and skill development.<\/p>\n

Harris has been recognized at a national level for her achievements in wound care. She received the Academy of Clinical Electrophysiology and Wound Management Award of Excellence in 2016, which was established to recognize individuals for contributions to clinical electrophysiology and wound management. Harris also was selected to participate in a focus group on Health Disparities and Underserved Populations in 2016, to help determine how cultural competence can affect a therapist\u2019s ability to impact the well-being of the underserved population. Harris was chosen to participate because of her expertise and work with issues such as obesity and diabetes.<\/p>\n

Harris is a certified wound specialist. She graduated from Indiana University and has more than 35 years of experience as a physical therapist.<\/p>\n
