According to the news release, early college students (high school juniors and seniors) are prime candidates for the program and will be job-ready as soon as they graduate the program.<\/p>\n
In addition, the Cortez Police Department donated bulletproof vests to the Southwest Regional Law Enforcement Academy.<\/p>\n
According to the news release, the cadets will wear the vests under their uniforms in class to prepare them for when they are working as law enforcement officers.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe train for real life,\u201d Law Enforcement Academy Director Anita Seamans said. \u201cWe want them to get used to the uncomfortableness.\u201d<\/p>\n
The campus also had a visit from U.S. Rep. Scott Tipton, R-Cortez.<\/p>\n
In partnership with the PCC Community College Foundation, Pueblo Community College, Southwest Campus hosted a Community Education Breakfast on Oct. 27, and Tipton toured the campus.<\/p>\n
