Plan a sober ride before you start celebrating.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re hosting a party or other New Year\u2019s gathering, consider these tips to help prevent impaired driving:<\/p>\n<p><em class=\"mwc_body_bullet_rr\">Have plenty of food and non-alcoholic beverages available<\/em><em class=\"mwc_body_bullet_rr\">Stop serving alcohol at least an hour before the end of the party<\/em><em class=\"mwc_body_bullet_rr\">Use smaller serving cups to keep alcoholic beverages to the appropriate size<\/em><em class=\"mwc_body_bullet_rr\">Plan activities and games that do not involve alcohol to reduce consumption<\/em><em class=\"mwc_body_bullet_rr\">Don\u2019t be afraid to take someone\u2019s keys if they\u2019ve had too much to drink, or if they\u2019ve ingested any impairing substance like prescription drugs, sleep medication, marijuana or any form of illegal drug.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Colorado Department of Transportation, Colorado State Patrol and local law enforcement agencies will increase DUI enforcement during New Year\u2019s weekend celebrations, from Dec. 29 to Jan. 2.
