{"id":101965,"date":"2018-01-10T20:55:32","date_gmt":"2018-01-11T03:55:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/southwest-memorials-first-baby-of-2018\/"},"modified":"2018-01-10T20:55:32","modified_gmt":"2018-01-11T03:55:32","slug":"southwest-memorials-first-baby-of-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/southwest-memorials-first-baby-of-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Southwest Memorial\u2019s first baby of 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Journal Staff Writer<\/p>\n<p>Southwest Memorial Hospital welcomed its first baby of the new year on Jan. 4 at 8:07 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Hannah May Stroud came in at 4 pounds and 14 ounces and was 18.25 inches long.<\/p>\n<p>Hannah was delivered by Dr. Marcelyn LePique OB\/GYN, FACOG via Caesarean section due to some complications.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.babycenter.com\/baby-names-hannah-1978.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Baby Center<\/a>, Hannah is a name with Hebrew origins and comes in at number 134 in popularity in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Hannah was born to first-time mother and over 20-year employee of the radiology department at Southwest Memorial Hospital, Hope Stroud and her husband, Jay Stroud, who works at Durango Glass.<\/p>\n<p>The couple liked the name Hannah, and called her Hannah May after Hope\u2019s mother\u2019s middle name.<\/p>\n<p>The Strouds hope to take their new baby home on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The hospital gifted the new parents a basket of newborn essentials and a newborn photo shoot with Aspen Jade Photography.<\/p>\n<p>Southwest Memorial Hospital had 134 births in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Haley Saunders, Marketing and Public Relations Director said the hospital is \u201clooking forward to welcoming more new faces in 2018 in our new family birthing center.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Journal Staff Writer Southwest Memorial Hospital welcomed its first baby of the new year on Jan. 4 at 8:07 a.m. Hannah May Stroud came in at 4 pounds and 14 ounces and was 18.25 inches long.
