{"id":101382,"date":"2017-11-16T14:25:35","date_gmt":"2017-11-16T21:25:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/m-chs-golf-team-receives-postseason-awards\/"},"modified":"2017-11-16T14:25:35","modified_gmt":"2017-11-16T21:25:35","slug":"m-chs-golf-team-receives-postseason-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dh.durangoherald.com\/tj\/m-chs-golf-team-receives-postseason-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"M-CHS golf team receives postseason awards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><!-- gallery:fed11024-dccb-4bcd-a39c-aeae6a050d8f --><\/p>\n<p><hardreturn>Over the course of the 2017 season, the Montezuma-Cortez High School golf team showed vast improvement, placed well in several regular season tournaments, and qualified two players for state.<\/hardreturn><\/p>\n<p>Thus, it was not altogether surprising when senior Cristoffer Rudosky and sophomore Blake Keetch received first-team all-league honors from the Intermountain League. Cristoffer Rudosky was also named Intermountain League \u201cPlayer of the Year\u201d and Panthers\u2019 head coach Micah Rudosky was voted the Intermountain League\u2019s Coach of the Year.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Senior Cristoffer Rudosky stars<\/div>\n<p>Playing his final season of high school golf, Rudosky delivered several memorable performances, including a 3-over-par round at the Monte Vista Invitational, which was good enough to capture medalist honors in the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Although the senior struggled slightly during his team\u2019s regional tournament, he rebounded at the Class 3A State Tournament, where he finished fourth overall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were excited for (Cristoffer),\u201d M-CHS head coach Micah Rudosky said. \u201cTaking fifth at state is great, we\u2019re proud of him.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"naviga-element naviga-subheadline1\">Blake Keetch emerges as a talent<\/div>\n<p>Entering the 2017 season, Keetch was not especially well-known on the Western Slope golf circuit, but a season that featured several top finishes, the M-CHS sophomore became recognized as one of the area\u2019s top talents.<\/p>\n<p>Chief among Keetch\u2019s accomplishments was a second-place finish at the Monte Vista Invitational and a sixth-place finish at the Class 3A Region 4 Tournament.
