The Sunflower Theatre welcomes back the Four Corners Roma music band Carute Roma on Saturday, March 3, at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
Carute Roma combines classic Roma songs with original tunes and modern dance-oriented and \u201cGypsy-punk\u201d styles, according to a news release by the Sunflower Theatre. Fiddle, accordion and trumpet are backed by guitar, bass and drums while being led by vocal harmonies in six languages.<\/p>\n
\u201cCarute Roma, or \u2018Gypsy Wagon,\u2019 definitely brings the party,\u201d the theater said.<\/p>\n
The band\u2019s full-length album, \u201cGadjo Caravan,\u201d includes a range of musical genres from the swinging \u201cC\u2019est Pa Grave\u201d to the Russian love song \u201cKorobushka\u201d and original tunes like \u201cNyet\u201d and \u201cImmigrant Song.\u201d<\/p>\n
Doors and cash bar open at 6:15 p.m., and the music begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door, and are available at www.sunflowertheatre.org.<\/p>\n
