A 25-year-old Bayfield man who is the prime suspect in a shooting that occurred last weekend in Ignacio remained on the loose Tuesday and is considered \u201carmed and dangerous,\u201d according to the Ignacio Police Department.<\/p>\n

Sgt. Wes Crume said Andrew Roger Rossi is suspected of shooting a 47-year-old man early Sunday.<\/p>\n

Anyone who encounters Rossi or knows of his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Crimestoppers at 247-1112.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t want anyone to approach him because we don\u2019t know his state of mind,\u201d Crume said.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred around 1:20 a.m. in an alley somewhere within Ignacio town limits, Crume said. The exact location, as well as the overall circumstances of the incident, remain unclear.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re getting a lot of confusing stories that don\u2019t match up and not a lot of cooperation,\u201d Crume said of the investigation.<\/p>\n

Crume said because of the hour, there wasn\u2019t any traffic out and there may not have been any witnesses other than those involved in the incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was an isolated event,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Authorities have not released the victim\u2019s name. Crume said the man is expected to have a \u201cslow but full recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n

Crume was not able to immediately provide a photograph of Rossi but said one should be made available soon. Rossi is a convicted felon, he said.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Southern Ute Police Department dispatch at 563-0246.<\/p>\n
