The Northern Navajo Nation Fair, held each fall in Shiprock, New Mexico, is the oldest and most traditional of the Navajo fairs. The event brings together Navajo communities from across the Four Corners region to celebrate the year’s harvest with a multi-day cultural gathering Oct. 2-5, according to the event’s website, hofficialnorthernnavajofair.org.

Festivities at the Shiprock Fairgrounds include a parade, rodeo, arts and crafts exhibitions, a Pow Wow, and traditional song and dance. The fair serves as a vibrant expression of Navajo heritage and community pride.
