The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad’s 476 locomotive returns to Durango on Thursday evening after a nearly two-month absence. Debris flows from the 416 Fire burn area in July washed away portions of the track north of Hermosa. The track has been repaired, and service from the Durango depot to Silverton will resume Friday morning. Trains will leave Durango at 8 a.m. and 8:45 a.m., arriving in Silverton at 11:30 a.m. and 12:25 p.m.
