Photo: Mancos Days Queen’s Quilt will be raffled

Courtesy of Queenie Barz<br><br>The Mancos Days Queen’s Quilt is on display at Dolores State Bank in Mancos.<br><br>The quilt will be raffled off during Mancos Days to benefit the VFW Auxiliary. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and are available at the Dolores State Bank, the Chamber of Commerce, or from any VFW Auxiliary member. Tickets also are available by calling Beverly Humiston-Scott at 759-1332 or Queenie Barz at 970-749-9320.<br><br>The quilt is handmade by members of the VFW Auxiliary. The blocks represent each past Mancos Days Queen, using material from their original dress. The center block is always reserved for the current year’s queen.<br><br>Proceeds from the sale of the tickets go towards the auxiliary’s youth programs, including candy for Santa Clause, the Easter Egg Hunt, Voice of Democracy, Patriot’s Pen, and the Patriotic Art contest.
