The Health Occupation Student Association at Montezuma-Cortez High School won first place in the state and $1,500 for its safe-driving program at the high school. The students sponsor the mock crash, seat belt safety programs, not driving distracted and not drinking and driving programs. The Colorado Department of Transportation and State Farm Insurance sponsored the cash award.
