The event, which celebrates local food and community, features a pie bake-off contest as well as a potluck dinner.

“It’s a partnership between the Mancos Library, the Creative District and Mount Lookout Grange,” said Mancos Town Administrator Andrea Phillips. “We close down Grand Avenue, and line it with tables. It’s a good way to bring everyone together and celebrate local food.”

Attendees of the Sept. 13 event are encouraged to bring their own table, cups, plates, silverware and a dish to share. Pie enthusiasts have the choice of entering their baked creations in the fruit, creme, nut, or savory pie categories. All entries must arrive by 5 p.m., be labeled with name and contact information, as well as the type of pie.

Pie judging begins at 5 p.m., and the potluck dinner begins at 5:30.
