This year’s Queen’s Quilt is on display in the Mancos Valley Bank in Mancos. The quilt was made by the members of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary No. 5231 and community members. Each block represents a Mancos Days Queen and her original dress material or a replication. Each block has a queen’s name and year embroidered on it. According to tradition, the quilt will again be raffled off, and the money will support the youth programs supported by the VFW, such as the Voice of Democracy, The Patriot’s Pen and The Patriotic Art. Tickets are available at the bank or from any VFW Ladies Auxiliary member for $1 each or six for $5. The winning ticket will be drawn July 26 at 12:30 p.m. in Boyle Park.
