Rear-end crash leads to ticket in Cortez

A Cortez police officer directs traffic while another writes a ticket to a driver who rear-ended a vehicle on Empire Street that was taking a left onto Ash Street. Occupants of both vehicles were checked out by medics at the scene and released. The accident occurred about 10:45 a.m. A Southwest Memorial Hospital ambulance and Cortez Fire Protection District also responded. Names were not released pending a final report.
