Dolores sixth-grader Gavin Livick won first place in the science fair for his bike light, which is powered by body heat. The Tail Light uses the heat generated from a cyclist’s rear-end on a bike seat to turn on a light. Livick will go on to compete in the regional science fair along with qualifiers Kelter Christenson, Brooklyn Lee, Ashlyn Mikkelson, Zion Pena, Mikayla Puett, Jonathan Purkat, Kayla Tallmadge, Analisa Vega and Julian Winslow.
