Winter Bike to Work Day 2026 will be held Feb. 13. This long-running community event is a chance to celebrate and promote sustainable transportation during the winter. This celebration consists of a weeklong commuter challenge on Way to Go Durango, morning commute stations with refreshments and swag, an after party, and, new for this year, an art competition to use for the swag and posters.
This year’s Commute Challenge is active on Way to Go Durango to Feb. 13. Learn more by signing up for Way to Go Durango and joining the challenge. Participants will compete for a bag of coffee from Desert Sun Coffee Roasters by logging the most sustainable commutes over one week on the Way to Go Durango platform.
Stations for this year will be active from 7 to 9 a.m. Feb. 13.
This year, in addition to celebrating sustainable commuting, the 2026 afterparty will be dedicated to celebrating the official design kickoff for the Camino Crossing project, which will design an underpass of Camino del Rio near 12th Street. The party will be held 4:30-6:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Powerhouse, 1333 Camino del Rio, to kick off the Camino Crossing Project with music from Stillhouse Junkies, beer donated by Carver Brewing and heavy appetizers. This will be very casual with no formal presentation by the city or feedback requested of the public.
Bike Durango will lead a bike parade to the Camino Crossing Kickoff afterparty. To join, meet at 4 p.m. at Buckley Park, 1250 Main Ave., for a 4:20 p.m. roll out. The route will finish by crossing Camino del Rio at the 12th Street HAWK signal to showcase existing conditions at the proposed location for the Camino Crossing project.
