Full traffic stops are expected Friday as part of the U.S. Highway 550-U.S. Highway 160 Connection South project.
Delivery of six more 140-foot-long concrete bridge girders will complete the girder transport for the bridge at Gulch A.
The girders will be transported to the project site from 4 to 7 a.m. Friday. Traffic at the U.S. Highway160-Highway 172 intersection will be fully stopped at least three times as a total of six trucks move through the intersection, turning south on Highway 172. Two trucks will move through at a time.
The trucks will continue south on Highway 172 and turn west on County Road 220 to reach the project site at County Road 220 and U.S. Highway 550. This entire transport process could impact travel on County Road 220 until about 7 a.m.
In mid-May, there will be a total of two mornings of bridge girder transport that will impact the U.S. Highway160-Highway 172 intersection, as well as U.S. Highway160 off-ramps at the interchange and the Wilson Gulch Road roundabout.
On these days the westbound U.S. Highway 160 off-ramp will have short delays and the eastbound U.S. Highway 160 off-ramp will be closed all day, from about 4 a.m. to 6 p.m.
