Recently in Letters to the Editor (Herald, Aug. 8), a gentlemen mentioned national corporate chains versus small locally owned businesses.
Even though I’m from New Mexico, I have frequented Kroegers for many years. It is a great store that seems to have everything you’d ever need.
Just recently due some medical issues, I was told by my insurance company that I could no longer use a locally owned pharmacy. In order for them to pay for my prescriptions, the only pharmacy I could use was Walgreens.
The continuing takeover by corporate America seems to be destroying one local business at a time. Unfortunately, as our communities continue to grow it will become more of an issue in the future.
Stay strong, Kroegers.
