The pedestrian, an adult male, was awake and talking with emergency medical responders from Durango Fire & Rescue Authority. He was loaded by stretcher and taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center.

He will be cited for not using the crosswalk, or jay-walking, said Durango Police Cpl. K. Stasi.

The truck driver, who was cited for careless driving, apparently struck the man while making a left turn onto Ninth Street from Narrow Gauge, police said.

Names of the pedestrian and driver were not available Saturday.
